About the Department:
The Department of Botany was established in 1974-75 session with Undergraduate classes under the Headship of Dr. T.P. Mall. The total faculty members at that time were two in number. In session 2002-03 the Department offers M.Sc. Course in Botany. The research activity in the Department was started in 2005 after the approval of two senior faculty members of the Department Dr. T.P. Mall and Dr. S.C. Tripathi. The faculty members were actively engaged in supervising research scholars, participation in National and International seminars. The Department has credited to publish about 320 research papers in National and International Journals. The Department has credited to complete 8 minor projects by faculty members. The 11 students of the Department received their Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Dr. T.P. Mall & Dr. S.C. Tripathi.
In 2018 UGC sanctioned B. Voc. Course (Soil and Water Conservation) is being conducted in the Department. The university was pleased to sanctioned Pre Ph.D. Course work-2018 in the Department. The Department is having good laboratory and library with reputed books and reference books. The Department has credited for the faculties being coordinator IQAC for Dr. S.C. Tripathi in both cycle of NAAC, who also officiating as Principal of the college in session 2019-20 (1st July, 2019 to 14th March, 2020). The Department has faculty comprising 5 Assistant Professors. The Department also supported by one technical staff. The Department is having good reputation with special reference to teaching, research extension activities and experiential learning.

To implement mechanism for identification of slow/Advanced learners.
